Personally I'm not sure whether this could still be classified in cosplay, since the collaboration work is quite extensive from all those involved. I would thank fellow Canon Brand Ambassador Edwin Martinez for providing a stunning stars / "outer space" background image. It's something out of my repertoire, so I called in for his help on this one.
It is a photo-manipulation, but of a person cosplaying as Dark Phoenix.. so I'm not really sure where to put this.
Asides from the things mentioned done in CG, the rest of the elements were done through photography: from the fire, wings, sash, emblem, down to the dust coming out from the Earth.
At the end of the day, people can call it whatever they want... as for us, we just want to make an image of Dark Phoenix. And for those who would comment its too much PS, you guys have the gift for stating the obvious.
Edit: We would be posting how this was done when we finish working on the 2nd study.
